What's in a Name?
Just Do It!You Just Gotta Believe!
This week we begin the second book of the Torah. This book is called Shemos, which means "names." The Torah names each of Jacob's sons who came into Egypt. This teaches us that every person is special. We also learn that our Jewish name links us all the way back to our holy ancestors!

  • Many Jewish names mean things: Malka means "queen." Yonah means "dove." Dov means "bear."

  • The Jewish Bible contains more than 2,800 personal names!
