String along with me!
  Learning is Good!Be Happy
In this week's Torah portion, Shelach, we are commanded to put fringes known as Tzitzis, on all 4-cornered garments. The Tzitzis remind us to fulfill the commandments, as the Torah states: "When you look upon it you will remember to do all the commandments of the L-rd." (Bamidbar 37:39) The numerical value of the Hebrew word Tzitzis is 600. Each fringe contains 8 strings and 5 knots. In this way, Tzitzis hints to the 613 mitzvos that G-d gave us! Tzitzis are like the uniform of a soldier. They show that we are members in the army of HaShem!

  • The Talmud tells us about someone who was about to do something bad. Suddenly, his Tzitzis slapped him in his face. This caused him to stop before it was too late!
