We're All One Family!
You are You-nique!Purim Sameach! Happy Purim!
This week's Torah portion, Pekudei; continues to list all the materials for the Mishkan (Tent of Meeting). Last week, we learned that just as each item was special, so, too, every Jewish person is unique. At the same time, all Jews belong to Klal Yisrael, the Nation of Israel. In this sense, every Jewish person is equal!

  • The Megilla states that the Jewish people are "one nation on the earth." So if we learn that a Jewish person far away is sad or happy, we should share the person's sadness or joy, too!

  • On happy occasions, Jews dance in a circle. Every point on a circle one is the same distance from the middle. So, too, in its essence every Jewish soul is equally close to G-d.

  • At the time of the Holy Temple, every Jew gave a Half-Shekel to buy sacrifices. The rich couldn't give more. The poor couldn't give less.

Rabbi Riddle's Kwazy Kwestions:
  1. No matter how many you put together, it still adds up to one. What is it?
  1. The Jewish people!
